Sunday 2nd June⋄ 15.15 - 16.00 ⋄ BBC Introducing Stage
Disco Rococo fuse the brightest sounds from the 60’s to the 80’s creating a unique smoothie of concise, neatly packaged songs.
They released their debut single last year, ‘Bullets N Bombs’, an energetic, jangly, anti-war song which pushes forward with stripped back guitar, bubbling keyboard & synth, driving drums and provocative, despairing – but humorous – lyrics.
Based in Redruth, Cornwall, U.K. the band is made up of artists who met through the local art scene. Initially exhibiting and putting on events together they soon started jamming, and Disco Rococo was born. They describe their unique blend of new wave, upbeat power indie pop – coupled with melancholic lyrics – as ’SAD POP’.
Having already enjoyed airplay on BBC Introducing, Disco Rococo are currently busy completing their debut EP (out 22 March 2019) and are already looking forward to a busy summer of festival performances including The Great Estate, Port Elliot, Leopallooza, Boardmasters and more.
