Great Estate Safari Walkabout
Come join us as we romp around the Great Estate observing and hunting down party animals; take up a game of croquet; or watch on enjoying a refreshing cup of G&T as we picnic in the sun.
Workshops will be run as a drop in. Everything will be free for children to participate in.
Jennifer Cullen and her team are secondary science teachers and secondary science technicians.
They will run three children’s drop-in workshops from their bell tent.
Making pinhole cameras
Children will make and decorate pinhole cameras from objects we bring and recycled objects from the site.
They will explain how cameras work and how photography originated in the time of the Greeks and was developed during Victorian times.
Making binoculars to use on the trail. These are not working binoculars, they are just for fun.
Kids can pick up a trail designed specifically for the site. They can then use the binoculars to go round the site and spot key objects or people. Once the checklist is complete the child returns and is rewarded with a sticker or sweet.
Karen from www.spottydogtrails.com will be designing the trail.
